SNOLAB Indico Account Policy

Canada/Eastern
Description

New Accounts

Existing SNOLAB Computing Account Holders

It is the policy of this Indico site that anyone who already has a SNOLAB account should log into this system using those credentials. This avoids account/identity duplication. When logging into the site for the first time, select the "Microsoft Account Login" button at the bottom of the login page.

External Non-SNOLAB Personnel

Site users who wish to have or need to have an Indico account, but who do not have or need a SNOLAB account, can request the creation of a new account on the system. The site owners retain the right to refuse to create an account.

Non-SNOLAB personnel must have a valid reason to be granted an account on this system. Valid reasons include, but are not limited to:

  •  the need to participate in a specific SNOLAB event hosted through Indico
  • membership in a SNOLAB project or collaboration that does not require an active SNOLAB account but which does require Indico access

The site owners may contact anyone who requests an account on this system to verify their reason for needing such an account.

Merging Accounts

Accoun holders who are identified as having multiple accounts, or who have a valid SNOLAB computing account and also a local Indico account, may be required to merge their accounts to minimize complications on this system. Personnel with valid SNOLAB computing accounts will be expected to prioritize that account as the primary, and have all other local accounts merged under that one. Personnel with multiple local accounts will be asked to specify which local account they prefer as the primary.

Personnel with multiple accounts who wish to reduce the number of accounts to just one must contact the site owners and request an account merge.

Closing Accounts

The site owners retain the right to close a user account for any reason. Account holders are expected to follow all SNOLAB policies and procedures and adhere to the SNOLAB Code of Conduct.
