Celebrating the legacy of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory
In 2025, we marked the 10‑year anniversary of the Nobel Prize in Physics recognizing the groundbreaking discoveries made at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory, and in 2026 we commemorate 20 years since the detector collected its final data. Join us in celebrating the remarkable legacy of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory.
SNOLAB is proud to honour the profound impact that the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory’s founding members and collaborators have had on our scientific community and on the field of particle physics worldwide. Together, we will reflect on how it began, how its discoveries shaped the foundation of SNOLAB today, and how its legacy continues to inspire future generations of underground science.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
Wednesday, November 18th
Join us for a cocktail hour in the Science North lobby prior to a screening of the Messengers documentary with the director, Jeffrey Zablotny.
Thursday, November 19th
During the day, we will host a symposium featuring talks about the past, present, and future of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory.
