Bulletin 1 (August 15, 2025)

We are very excited for the NNN25 conference and the free workshop that precedes it, ENTENTE (Extreme Nuclear Half-Life Efforts: New Theories and Experiments)! This is the first in a series of updates on the events of the week of the conference.

In this bulletin, we provide:

  • An update on the early registration deadline
  • A peek at the scientific program
  • Information about underground tours of SNOLAB, which are scheduled for the days preceding the conference

Early Registration Deadline Extended to Sept. 3!

We know that late summer is a busy time for many. For various scientists, students, and post-docs the competition between preparations for new academic terms and regular vacation periods keeps everyone busy. Therefore, we have extended the early registration deadline to September 3, 2025, at 11:59pm. Both the website and the payment system have been updated to reflect this.

Registration will close on September 17, 2025 - two weeks before the start of the NNN25 conference. This is necessary to help the local organzing committee work with our catering partners to finalize their support.

A Peek at the Scientific Program

We know the scientific program is of most interest to the participants. The International Scientific Advisory Committee (ISAC), Steering Commitee, and Local Organizing Commmittee have been hard at work to begin finalizing that program.

Projects are still submitting abstracts for contributed talks, so we don't have the full picture there yet. However, abstract review will begin the week of August 18, 2025, so if you've submitted an abstract you should be hearing from the ISAC soon.

We are excited for a slate of invited talks as well. Here is a look at the broad scientific topic areas (not necessarily talk titles) the ISAC has identified where those speakers can share insights, discoveries, challenges, and prospects.

  • Theoretical Overview of Neutrino Oscillations
  • Experimental Overview of Neutrino Oscillations
  • Results and Prospects from Atmospheric and Solar Neutrinos
  • Overview of Inelastic Neutrino-Nucleus interactions
  • Overview of Coherent Elastic Neutrino Nucleus Scattering (CEvNS)
  • High-Energy Astrophysical Neutrinos
  • Overview Supernova Neutrinos
  • Overview of Reactor Neutrino Experiments
  • Overview of Neutrino Mass Measurements
  • Nucleon Decay: Theoretical and Experimental Overview
  • Overview of Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay
  • Overview of Sterile Neutrinos and Beyond the 3-Flavour Scenario
  • Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and in Neutrino Physics
  • Equity, Diversity, Inclusiveness, Indigenization and Scientific Practice

Tours of SNOLAB

Tours of the underground laboratory space will be available in the days leading up to the NNN25 conference. Space on tours is limited and availability will be assigned on a first-come, first served basis from registration information.

If you register for the ENTENTE workshop and check the box for interest in a tour, you are automatically assigned Sunday, September 28th as your tour date, subject to available tour space.

If you register for NNN25 (without the ENTENTE worshop) and check the box for interest in a tour, you will automatically be assigned to either Monday, September 29th, or Tuesday, September 30th, subject to available tour space.

It should be noted that an underground tour requires an early morning start and for participants to be physically fit enough to walk for ~1.5km through the mine drift on uneven ground. All tour participants are also required to take a full shower to access the laboratory space. You can view the 'A visit to SNOLAB' video for an overview of the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PgVA2_yVEU

Additional information on the tours will be provided to conference participants closer to the conference date, including our visitor guide.
